First two letters of his name “AR” indicate his father’s name Arunasalam and were added after he signed his first film.
While in college, he used to take part in the cultural events and mimic actors.
Subsequently, he became very fond of watching movies and started writing jokes.
After finishing college, he tried to join the Madras Film Institue, but got rejected.
Famous writer P. Kalaimani made Murugadoss his assistant and gave him a chance to write dialogues for the Tamil film Madurai Meenakshi.
Murugadoss has also worked with S. J. Surya and has written the dialogues for the film Kushi.
He made his debut in Hindi Cinema with the film ‘Ghajini‘, which was the first ever Bollywood film to gross over ₹100 crore.
