Some Lesser Known Facts About Aoora
Aoora is a South Korean singer, composer, DJ, and content creator, who is a former member of the South Korean boy band Double-A and its subunit Aoora&Hoik. He is well-known for creating remixes of Hindi songs with Korean lyrics.
Aoora was the first member who joined the boy group âDouble A.â In 2011, he made his debut as a rapper alongside four other members named Woosang, Hoik, Jinhong, and Kimchi.

On 7 March 2013, AA released a song from their upcoming mini album âRollin Rollin.â The song was banned and deemed inappropriate for broadcasting by KBS and SBS. Despite this setback, AA later released their complete mini album, âCome Back,â on 27 March 2013, marking the end of their year-and-a-half hiatus. Aoora was responsible for composing, arranging, and producing all six songs included in the album.
On 20 August 2015, Aoora and Hoik released a cover of Omiâs song âCheerleader.â On 29 September 2015, the first episode of the third season of the South Korean show F@LLOW ME was released, featuring Aoora and Hoik as AOORA&HOIK. This confirmed the sub-unitâs existence within the group.
In 2017, he joined the South Korean EDM duo âTrophy Catâ alongside DJ Fridayyy (Hyung Sun-ahn).

He has over 460k followers on Instagram and more than 330k subscribers on YouTube. His remix of the Indian song âSwag Se Swagatâ from the 2017 Bollywood film âTiger Zinda Haiâ gained more than a million views on social media on 23 September 2022, earning him notable recognition, particularly in India. He then released a dance cover of the 2016 Hindi song âCham Chamâ by Monali Thakur and Meet Bros .
In September 2023, the Uttar Pradesh Tourism Department announced that Aoora, along with fellow K-pop artist DJ Fridayyy, would be the main performers in a series of concerts across India. These concerts were part of a major cultural celebration commemorating the 50th anniversary of diplomatic relations between India and South Korea. In an interview, he talked about the cities he visited across India and his experience of living in those cities. He said,
I got to visit several cities like Varanasi, Lucknow, Hyderabad and now Delhi and each experience has been better than the other. If you ask me, which one was the best, I really will have no answer. But one thing I noticed everywhere and admired is the spirituality. People here are very spiritual. I saw people with folded hands, meditating and being at peace.
