Anubhav started his professional career as a fashion designer. But later he moved to modelling and acting.

Anubhav Mohanty also has a successful career in politics. On April 27, 2013, he joined the regional political party Biju Janata Dal (BJD). He was elected as the youngest member of the Rajya Sabha in June 2014. On May 23, 2019, he was elected as a Member of Parliament (MP) for the Kendrapara Lok Sabha constituency, Odisha, defeating the previously elected Baijayant Panda.
In 2024, Anubhav resigned from the BJD and joined the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP).
