Anshul Kamboj belongs to an agricultural family in Karnal.
He began receiving cricket training at Rana Brothers’ Cricket Academy in Karnal, Haryana, during his school days.
He initially began playing for Haryana in the U-14 cricket championships and later started playing for the team in all age groups.
He represented the Indian U-19 team in two Youth Test matches against South Africa in 2019.

After that, Anshul Kamboj received training in a cricket training program organised at the National Cricket Academy in Bengaluru by former Indian cricketer V. V. S Laxman .
On 17 February 2022, he made his first-class debut for Haryana and played against Tripura in Delhi.
On 15 November 2022, Anshul Kamboj made his List A debut for Haryana and played against Bihar at Alur.
Before marking his IPL debut, he had played 13 first-class matches, 14 List-A matches, and nine T20s and took 24, 23, and 11 wickets respectively.
