Some Lesser Known Facts About Annu Awasthi
Since his childhood, he had no interest in studies, and he got failed seven times in the high school examinations. In 1985, he appeared for the first time in the high school examination at the age of 16 and continued appearing in the examination till he reached 26, but he could not clear the examination even after so many attempts.
In the year 1996, he started selling supplying medicines door-to-door in Kanpur and during this period, he fell in love with a girl named Seema who used to live in his neighbourhood. At that time, Seema was preparing for the Civil Services; after completing her MA. Seema’s family was reluctant to marry her with a high school failure; however, after a long period of lobbying with her family, Annu eventually got married to Seema in 1997.
After marriage, Annu started a small business of sale & purchase of old cars in Kanpur’s Lajpat Nagar area in 1998. He gave a name to this firm as “Curfew Car Bazaar.” He also rented a flat in the Ranigunj area of Kanpur and started living there.
Annu Awashti became popular in 2019 when on 19 November, his audio invitation of his son’s “Janeu Nimantran” to his relatives in Kanpuria style went viral on social media.
Annu is very fond of costly bikes and cars. He also has a large collection of automatic weapons. When asked about these weapons, he cited the nature of his business that demanded him to carry such weapons.
In 2017, he started a YouTube channel “Annu Awasthi Kanpur Se” where he has more than 50 thousand subscribers.
In 2019, he appeared in the popular Indian television show “Bhabiji Ghar Par Hain! ” where he played the character of Manmohan Tiwari’s “Mama Ji.”
Annu Awasthi has performed in many cities including Delhi, Lucknow, Noida, and Kanpur. His fans belong to every age group; from children to aged ones; mostly women, and they usually gift him goggles to show their love for him.
