After pursuing his college, he began doing professional theatre in Dharwad, Karnataka. Later, he moved to Bangalore to pursue a career in acting.
His debut film, Chitte (2001), was a big flop at the box office. However, later, he went on to appear in many successful films like Thuntata (2002), Jyeshta (2003), Neenello Nanalle (2006), Nali Naliyutha (2007), Rajasimha (2018), and Chef Chidambara (2024).
In 2003, he appeared for the first time with his father-in-law in the film Jyeshta (2003).
Besides being an actor, he is also an interior designer. Aniruddha, along with his wife, owns an interior design firm.
In 2016, Aniruddha Jatkar conceptualized and wrote the comic series Sahasa Simha, based on the life of his father-in-law, Vishnuvardhan. He has released 3 books of the comic series in collaboration with Amar Chitra Katha.
In 2018, Aniruddha attended several professional courses to enhance his filmmaking skills. He took a Film Appreciation course at FTII in Pune, attended a Cinematography workshop in Bangalore, and completed a 45-day residential workshop on theatre conducted by the National School of Drama Regional Resource Center in Bangalore.
In 2019, Aniruddha bagged a TV serial, Jothe Jotheyali (2019). The show had the highest TRP in its opening week and was one of the most-watched shows on Kannada television.
In 2018, Jatkar appeared alongside his mother-in-law in the film Rajasimha.
Ā As a tribute to his father-in-law Vishnuvardhan, Jatker released six short films titled āSmoke, ā āShantam Papam, ā āSave, ā āVaishnava Janato, ā āWater, ā and āCandlelightā on 18 September 2018 (Vishnuvardhanās birth anniversary). All the films were based on various social issues and were written and directed by him.
He holds a total of 17 records including India Book of Records, Jatkarās short films hold a total of 17 records, including the India Book of Records, Asia Book of Records, and Kalamās World Records for releasing six short films on the same day.

During the COVID-19 pandemic, Jatkar showed his active participation in providing food and shelter to needy people.

Aniruddha opened his own production house, Keerthi Innovations, in 2020.
In 2021, Jatkar wrote and conceptualised a documentary titled āBaale Bangaaraā on the life of his mother-in-law and veteran actress Bharathi Vishnuvardhan. He produced the documentary under his banner.

Aniruddha Jatkar has written several articles based on social issues and concerns of Bangalore city, which have been published in several reputed newspapers.
Jatkar is one of the trustees and executive directors of Vishnuvardhan Pratishtana Trust, a Government Trust for the construction of the Dr. Vishnuvardhana memorial at Mysore, Karnataka.
Apart from acting, Jatkar is also trained in singing. He was the host and singer of his debut TV series, Daddy No. 1 (2009). He and his wife participate together in various cultural and singing events.

Aniruddha Jatkar campaigns for road safety, using the hashtag #surakshathetegaginanusahabhagi on his Facebook and Instagram accounts. He often request to road authorities to take action against the hanging electricity wires, cables, and transformers without any protective guards on footpaths and roads.
