| Controversy | Booked in a Murder Case by the CBI Reportedly, in 2023, Anil Sharma, along with six others, was booked in connection with the murder of a former secretary of a renowned educational institute in Bihar that took place in August 2014. Dr Sharad Chandra, the then secretary of Balika Vidyapeeth in Lakhisarai, Bihar, was shot dead while he was reading a newspaper in the balcony at his residence in the university campus. Initially, the case was investigated by the local police, but it was later handed over to the Bihar Police's Crime Investigation Department (CID) in October 2014. Reportedly, the single-member bench of justice Rajeev Ranjan Prasad at the High Court of India ordered a Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) probe into the matter.
