Angana Roy was trained in classical music from a young age.
She participated in various sports during her school days.
After her postgraduate education, she worked briefly in the human resources division of Hewlett-Packard (HP), a multinational company in Bengaluru.
She started her career in the entertainment industry as a model, endorsing several brands and acting in commercials.
After director Mano saw one of her popular Tamil commercials directed by cinematographer Ravi K Chandran, he offered her the role of Kalyani in the Tamil film Ragalaipuram (2013). This film became her second release in the Tamil film industry.
Some of her other roles in Tamil films are as Sangeetha in Mahabalipuram (2015), Jennifer in 7 Naatkal (2017), and Divya in Kadasi Bench Karthi (2017).
