Angad Singh’s family has been engaged in politics for more than 5 decades. His paternal grandfather, Dilbagh Singh, represented the Nawanshahr Vidhan Sabha seat six times before his father won the Nawanshahr seat in 2002.

In 2008, he contested his first election and became the general secretary of the District Youth Congress Nawanshahr at the age of 18.
He is also a national-level shooter.
When he was 21 years old, he was elected as the President of the Punjab Youth Congress from Nawanshahr.
In 2016, he organised a rally for Captain Amarinder Singh in San Francisco, which was attended by more than 1200 people.
In 2017, he contested in the Punjab’s Assembly election against his uncle and AAP (Aam Aadmi Party) candidate, Charanjit Singh Channi, and became the youngest MLA of Punjab at the age of 26 years.
In 2018, he alleged that the senior Congress leader assaulted him and his family, Jasbir Singh Dimpa after he protested the presence of Dimpa and his brothers inside the polling booth during the election of RDTCSL (Rohtak District Transport Co-operative Society Limited).
In January 2022, he claimed that the Congress denied him a ticket for the Punjab Assembly election as a punishment because his wife, Aditi Singh , left Congress for the BJP.
He also claimed that senior leaders of Congress had asked him to comment against his wife, which he refused to do.
He once claimed that he did not take his salary for 2 years during COVID-19 to set an example for other MLAs to work for the welfare of people.
In 2021, he distributed funds worth lakhs of rupees to the farmers under the ‘Debt Relief Scheme.’

On 23 April 2024, he met with an accident after his car crashed into an ambulance, near Taunsa village in Balachaur tehsil of Shaheed Bhagat Singh Nagar, while he was travelling to Chandigarh. He was then rushed to a local hospital in Mohali
According to the police, the ambulance suffered from technical issues and had stopped in the middle of the road before the crash.
Apart from politics, he also has a keen interest in sports. He is a national-level squash player and a national-level shooter.
He once organised one of the biggest cricket tournaments in Nawanshahr in which more than 150 teams from several districts of Punjab participated.
He has contributed to making the education sector better in Nawanshahr by establishing smart schools with proper electricity and water facilities, parks and various labs.
He has established gyms in villages of Nawanshahr and distributed sports equipment including cricket kits, volleyball kits, football kits, badminton kits for girls, and uniforms for players under the mission – ‘Tandrust Naswanshahr.’

He has also contributed to constructing roads, hospitals, and Gaushala.
He loves to collect watches.
He loves travelling and has travelled to several countries including the USA, UK, Canada, Mexico, South Africa, Mozambique, and Tanzania.
Under his leadership, Nawanshahr received the award of best ‘Self Sustainable City’ in the ‘North Zone’ at the Swachh Amrit Mahotsav in Delhi on 20 November 2021.
