He was born in Mexico and is the third generation in his family who wrestled for WWE after his grandfather and father.
He made his wrestling debut in 2003 when he was only 14 years old.
He wrestled at CMLL (Consejo Mundial de Lucha Libre) for 8 years from 2007 to 2015.
He used the name La Sombra at CMLL as his ring name, which is a Spanish word for The Shadow.
In 2009, when he was part of CMLL, he had been the champion of three titles at the same time including Mexican National Trios Championship, NWA World Historic Welterweight Championship, and CMLL World Tag Team Championship.
Triple H is the man who identified his talent and skills and promoted him to NXT in 2015.
WWE signed a developmental contract with Andrade Cien Almas on 19 November 2015 and he was sent to WWE Performance Center to complete his training.
