Controversies • Unusual dismissal of AIIMS director
Anbumani Ramadoss, the Union Minister of Health and Family Welfare, fired Dr. P. Venugopal, the director of the All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS), a leading cardiologist in the nation, in 2006. He claimed that Dr P. • Arrest for hate speech
Anbumani Ramadoss was taken into custody in Chennai by the Kancheepuram police in May 2013 regarding a previous incident. In 2012, a hate speech case was filed against him, for which he was later charged. Ten Dalit homes in Marakannam are said to have been set on fire by theĀ PMK cadre on 25 April 2012.   • Anbumani Ramadoss took an ā€œIntroductory Macroeconomicsā€ course at the London School of Economics (L.S.E.) in 2003.

  • After his graduation, he worked as a doctor in a government hospital in the small village of Nallalamm, which is close to Tindivanam. After working as a medical practitioner for a year and a half, he resigned.
