Some Lesser Known Facts About Anand Bhadauriya
In 2011, Anand’s name first came into the limelight when a picture went viral which showed Anand being assaulted by the DIG of Police while he was lying on the ground. The photo was taken by a journalist when Samajwadi Party workers were protesting in front of the Vidhan Sabha and the police began to lathi-charge them.

Anand contested the 2014 Lok Sabha elections from the Dhaurahra constituency but lost to the Bharatiya Janata Party’s candidate Rekha Verma with a margin of 1,26,325 votes.
In 2015, Anand and two others were expelled from the Samajwadi Party for showing indiscipline and going against the party during the panchayat elections. Later, they were reinstated in the party as they were considered close aides of then Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav .
Anand contested and won the 2024 Lok Sabha elections from the Dhaurahra constituency by defeating the Bharatiya Janata Party’s candidate Rekha Verma with a margin of 4,449 votes.
