Anaitha Nair’s father is a Malayali and her mother a Parsi.
Soon after the completion of her graduation, she relocated to Mumbai to make a way for herself in Bollywood.
Her first acting debut (By The People), which was a Malayalam film was released in 2005.
She underwent a rigorous training to learn Hockey in Australia to prepare for her movie (Chak De India).
Chak de India proved to be a great break for her.
She has acted in a number of TV Commercials notably in Virgin Mobile with Ranbir Kapoor , Dairy Milk Silk, Acer, Dove, Medical Abortion Pills, and Nescafe.
She has also worked with some renowned filmmakers such as Shyam Benegal , Abbas Tyrewalla, Nagesh Kukunoor, Rohan Sippy, Nishikant Kamat and Vipul Shah.
She also played the role of Bindiya in the British-Indian comedy series Mumbai Calling.
Not just an actress, she is a singer too. She was a member of a band named S5, her debut album was “Isai”, which was launched by Oscar-winning Music Director A. R. Rahman in September 2005.
She has appeared in movies like Chak De India (2007), Well Done Abba (2010), Dum Maaro Dum (2011) etc.
In 2011, she got married to the love of her life ‘Akhil Nair’.
Her own love story is more like a movie. In an interview, she told that “He’s a friend of mine from school and we’ve known each other since we were kids, but we fell out of touch. We then randomly met online and reconnected,”
She was blessed with a baby girl, a few years after her marriage, she named her daughter Aaliya after her character in the movie Chak De India.
A professional host too, she accounts for about 200 live concerts.
