| Controversies | • Sentenced to death In 2025, an Iranina court sentenced Amir Tataloo to death on appeal after he was convicted of blasphemy. He was sentenced to death for insulting Islam's Prophet Mohammed. However, the Iran's Judiciary dismissed a report by state-run media that it had sentenced Amir to death sentence. Amir Tatoloo was previously sentenced to five-year jail term on the offences. Some Lesser Known Facts About Amir Tataloo
Due to his father’s job, Amir Tataloo spent his elementary school years in Rasht, Iran. After a few years, he moved back to Tehran.
Amir Tataloo decided to work and study simultaneously because of his family’s financial situation.
He used to work at a carpenter’s workshop from the age of 14 to 16. Later at the age of 16, Amir started working at a grocery shop.
Amir started pursuing his music career right after he finished high school in 2003 by releasing songs on his blog.
Amir Tataloo started as an underground musician and remained unauthorized by the Ministry of Culture and Islamic Guidance which is a ministry responsible for managing access to media in the view of the Iranian government.
In 2011, Amir Tataloo started his YouTube channel and started uploading his songs on it. His YouTube channel holds more than eight hundred thousand subscribers, as of 2025.
Amir Tataloo is part of the first generation of the Iranian underground hip-hop field and also one of the first R&B singers in the Persian language.
In 2014, released a single titled ‘Manam Yeki az un Yazdahtam’ (I’m Also One of Those Eleven Players) for the Iranian National Football Team during the 2014 FIFA World Cup.
In 2015, during the Iran/5+1 nuclear talks in Vienna, Amir Tataloo released his Persian song titled ‘Energy Hastei’ which was a song supporting the Iranian nuclear program. The music video of the song was produced on the Iranian navy ship titled ‘Damavand.’
The song ‘Energy Hastei’ was the top trending Google search in the Persian language. The song was also compared to the Iranian singer Mohammadreza Shajarian’s songs in support of Iranian protests in 2009.
In 2015, Amir Tataloo was introduced as the peace ambassador of the Tehran Peace Museum which aims at promoting a culture of peace through raising awareness about the devastating consequences of war.
Amir Tataloo was arrested multiple times from 2016 to 2018 by the Islamic Public Authorities in Iran and he spent months in prison.
In 2017, he participated in a televised meeting with the ultra-conservative Ebrahim Raisi who later became Iran’s president before being killed in a helicopter crash in 2024.

In 2018, after several arrests by the Iranian authorities and failing to get a music activity license from the Ministry of Culture and Islamic Guidance, Amir Tataloo left Iran and immigrated to Turkey.
Amir Tataloo also moved to Dubai and stayed there for a while to pursue his music career but he didn’t find a scope in Dubai and returned back to Turkey.
In 2019, Amir Tataloo asked fans to break the record of the most commented post on Instagram which at that time was at 10 million comments. His fans broke the record with 18 million comments later.
In 2020, Amir Tataloo broke a record by hosting a live broadcast on Instagram with 626,000 viewers.
In 2021, Amir released his album titled ‘Fereshteh’ which was released by the Dutch–American multinational music corporation named ‘Universal Music Group.’ Amir Tataloo was the first Iranian to collaborate with Universal Music Group.
In the same year, Amir Tataloo broke the record for most comments on YouTube with a video for his song titled ‘Ye Saram Be Ma Bezan’ reaching over 19 million comments.
After moving to Turkey, Amir continued with his music career and established his successful career by creating albums and big concerts in Turkey which were otherwise not allowed in Iran until 2023.
Amir named his fanbase as ‘Tatality.’
Amir Tataloo has released many Persian music albums and some of them include ‘Zire Hamkaf’ (2011), ‘Tatality’ (2013), ‘Shomareh 7’ (2016), ‘Boht’ (2022), ‘Behesht’ (2023), and ‘Yin Yang’ (2024).

Amir Tataloo has released many Persian singles and some of them include ‘Boro Az Pishe Man’ (2005), ‘To Be Harfe Man Goosh Kon’ (2011), ‘Jooje Honari’ (2020), ‘Baby Oonam Dooste Mane’ (2022), and ‘Hanooz’ (2023).
