Aman Sehrawat lost his mother to depression when he was 10 years old.
A year later, his father, affected by his wife’s death, also passed away.
Aman Sehrawat and his younger sister, Puja Sehrawat, were raised by their elder uncle, Sudhir Sehrawat, and a maternal aunt.
After his parents’ death, he went into severe depression. Aman Sehrawat’s grandfather, Mangeram Sehrawat, played a crucial role in helping him recover from depression.
He excelled in school sports and won short-distance races in village competitions.
During his free time, Aman Sehrawat began watching wrestling matches of Sushil Kumar
, an Indian wrestler, on television. He was inspired by his playing techniques.
After that, he began learning wrestling at a local training centre.
In 2021, Sehrawat achieved his first National Championship title. During this time, Lalit Kumar was his coach.
Aman Sehrawat created history and became the first Indian wrestler to win a gold medal at the Under-23 World Wrestling Championships in Pontevedra, Spain, in 2022.

In 2022, he competed against Japanese wrestler Toshihiro Hasegawa in the semifinals of the Asian Games but lost with a score of 10-12.
He has won 17 gold medals at various national-level wrestling events and earned several medals at the World Championships, Asian Championships, and World Ranking Series.

During this Asian Championship, Aman Sehrawat got injured in the last 39 seconds of his match. He consulted a doctor immediately and received treatment. After that, he won the match with a five-point lead over his opponent, Almaz Smanbekov.
On 6 October 2023, Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi
congratulated him on Twitter for winning a bronze medal in the Men’s Wrestling 57 kg category championship at the Asian Games.

In 2023, the United World Wrestling suspended the Wrestling Federation of India for failing to hold timely elections. Indian wrestlers had to compete under the neutral International Olympic Committee flag at the World Championships 2023 due to the suspension. Aman Sehrawat was one of the affected wrestlers competing under the neutral flag.
In his free time, he likes playing basketball and watching the television serial ‘Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah’ on SAB TV.

He participated in the 2024 Grand Prix Zagreb Open and won a gold medal after defeating his opponent and Turkish player Muhammet Karavuş with a score of 15-4.
Aman Sehrawat competed at the 2024 Asian Wrestling Olympic Qualification Tournament in Bishkek, Kyrgyzstan, and qualified for the 2024 Summer Olympics in Paris, France, becoming the only male wrestler from India to qualify for the 2024 Summer Olympics.
Travelling to distant places and swimming are his favourite recreational activities.
