Alyy Khan is a Pakistani-British actor. He works in Indian, American, British, and Pakistani films and television series. Khan is known for his work in films like âA Mighty Heartâ (2007) (American), âDon 2â (2011) (Indian), and âActor in Lawâ (2016) (Pakistani).
According to Alyy, he relocated to the United Kingdom from Pakistan, following the divorce of his parents, along with his mother and sister; he was about 7 years old at that time. They, however, came to Mumbai, India, from the UK when Alyy was 10 years old.
In an interview, Alyy shared a memory from his childhood in Karachi about the day his parents decided to divorce. One morning, when Alyy and his sister Tanya were about to head to school, their father disclosed his and their motherâs decision to separate, and he ask them to decide who they wished to live with. Khan appeared in many Hindi-language television serials. In 1993, he played the role of âVikramâ in a sitcom titled âDekh Bhai Dekh,â which aired on DD Metro (also known as DD 2). In 1994, he appeared in the television drama series âBanegi Apni Baatâ as Kabir; the series was aired on Zee TV. Alyy appeared in many episodes of the horror thriller television anthology series âSsshhhhâŚKoi Hai,â which was aired on StarPlus; he played the role of Rakesh in the episode âTalaashâ (2001), Rohan in âChehre Pe Chehraâ (2002), and Ajitabh in âJinnaatâ (2002).

In 2008, Khan appeared as Jalaal Ahmed in the Pakistani comedy-drama television series âYeh Zindagi Hai,â which aired on Geo Entertainment (also known as Har Pal Geo) channel. He hosted the show cooking game show âFoodistanâ with Ira Dubey, an Indian actor. The show was aired on the channels Good Times and Geo Entertainment. In 2007, he appeared as Sheikh Omar in the American drama film âA Mighty Heart.â Alyy played the role of Ahmed Khan in a coming-of-age British drama film titled âEverywhere and Nowhereâ (2011). His role as âNeal Kumarâ in the American drama film âThe Valleyâ made him nominated for Best Actor in a Feature Film award at the International Filmmaker Festival of World Cinema, Berlin and at the Northeast Film Festival (NEFF), US, in 2017; he was nominated for Best Actor award at International Filmmaker Festival of World Cinema, Milan, as well for the film.

Alyy appeared as âBashirâ in the film âMogul Mowgliâ (2020), which premiered in the Panorama section at the 70th Berlin International Film Festival on 21 February 2020; Alyy was nominated for the Best Supporting Actor award at British Independent Film Awards (BIFA) for the film in 2021.

In 2015, he worked as a voice-over artist for the character of young Mangu in the 3D computer-animated adventure film â3 Bahadur,â which was Pakistanâs first feature-length computer-animated film. Khan appeared in many other Pakistani films including âMah e Mirâ (2016), and âZindagi Kitni Haseen Hayâ (2016).
Alyy Khan made his mark on OTT platforms by appearing in British, Pakistani, American, and Indian web series. He played the role of Deputy Superintendent Naranda Nath Tuli in Netflixâs âThe Serpentâ (2020).
