Alex Nation spent her early childhood on a farm in rural Victoria, Australia.

Alex’s mother and stepfather Dino wanted to pursue a career in food & hospitality. Therefore, they moved from their farm in Victoria when Alex was 10 and established Benito’s Restaurant in Mount Eliza, Australia. Dino passed away after battling with cancer in 2013.
Alex was estranged from her father for 10 years. Later, she contacted him through Facebook.
On 6 December 2010, Alex gave birth to her son Elijah with her boyfriend Joel Porter. At that time, she was 19 and Joel was 23.
