In 2015, she joined Hyderabad’s Amazon Development Center as an executive. Alekhya worked there for around three years.

In 2018, she bagged a web series, “Chitram Vichitram.”
Harika shot to fame by playing the lead role in a web series of the YouTube channel, “Dhethadi.”
She has also appeared in the YouTube video, “Frustrated Telangana Pilla.” The video received more than 1.8 million views within a few days of its release.
In 2020, Alekhya entered the house of ‘Bigg Boss Telugu 4’ as a contestant.

Alekhya shared during an interview that she had never desired to become an actress. Her entry into YouTube videos happened by chance. She had once auditioned for a YouTube short film on the suggestion of a friend, and got selected to play a role in the short film.
While sharing the details of her first day on shoot, Alekhya said,
The moment, the director said, ‘Roll Action Camera, I just stood and watched the opposite person. I didn’t know what to do when they said that’, I was petrified when I started the shoot. It was only with the support and encouragement of my mother that I became the star today.”
While talking about her role in the Tamil film, “Aditya Varma,” Harika said,
Though, it was a small role I was very happy with it. I have been rejected in some films here because of my height. But those from the Tamil film Industry people are cool. They don’t have any problem with my height. I didn’t use make up in the shoot also.”
