Akash Sabu, also known as Sabuman, is a food and lifestyle vlogger from Thiruvananthapuram, Kerala.
He became popular through his “So Foodies” vlogs, which showcase hidden culinary spots, street food, and local delicacies across Kerala.
Along with food content, he also shares videos related to fitness, lifestyle, and entertainment on digital platforms.
His signature style includes starting videos with the greeting “Hello foodies,” which has become familiar among his online followers.
On 5 December 2016, he started an internship at McCann Worldgroup in Bangalore.
From 1 June 2017 to 1 July 2017, he worked as an intern at Stark Communications in Thiruvananthapuram.
On 17 September 2018, he joined Zomato in Thiruvananthapuram as a Sales and Marketing Manager.
In 2018, Akash and his friends Rohit, Arjun, Vinay, and Govind started the Instagram page “High on Food.” The page became active in 2020, posting reviews of restaurants, street food, and local dishes across Kerala.
Akash said the page features both restaurant dishes and food from local hotels, home chefs, and bakers. He chose English narration to make Kerala food and places more accessible to non-Malayali visitors and tourists.

On his page, Akash highlights local dishes like soft coin parottas with chicken fry, kebabs, pizzas, and festive desserts.
He has featured the Indian Chicken Kebab from Supreme All Spices in Kuravankonam and Neapolitan pizzas by Abraham Mathew in Irinjalakuda.
He also showcased Rasmalai tres leches cakes prepared by the Thiruvananthapuram-based outlet Totally Baked.
Akash revealed he plans to expand content by exploring food from different Indian states and international cuisines. He also aims to promote emerging home chefs and bakers alongside popular restaurants.
In April 2023, Akash launched his YouTube channel “Sabuman,” which includes food experiments, challenges, lifestyle content, and comedy skits.
In 2025, Akash Sabu has now entered Bigg Boss Malayalam Season 7 as a wildcard contestant. The show aired on Asianet and also streamed on JioHotstar.
In his introduction video, he described himself as a content creator and highlighted Bigg Boss as the best platform.
He mentioned that people know him for his smile, dance moves, and entertainment-based content. His entry is expected to change house dynamics by introducing a new participant with a background in digital content creation.
This season, titled “Bigg Boss 7’s work,” included tough living conditions and the Panippura room challenge involving clothes and makeup restrictions.
Contestants could only access the Panippura room for a limited time after winning specific tasks during the show.
Recently, Bigg Boss returned the clothes and makeup items to the contestants after keeping them locked for several weeks.
