Some Lesser Known Facts About Ajit Anjum
Ajit Anjum has been reading multiple newspaper dailies since his student days.
As a student, he wrote his views on social problems in letters to the editor of the Patliputra Times and other dailies.
In 1987, he and his friends came in contact with a group of local journalists in Muzaffarpur. The interactions with those journalists were instrumental in his choosing journalism as a career.

At the same time, Manikant Thakur, then editor of Patlipura Times, allowed him to work as a local correspondent of Minapur in Muzaffarpur.
He also freelanced as a journalist for several newspapers and periodicals such as Dharmyug, Saptahik Hindustan, Janshakti, Dinmaan, and Ravivar.
In an interview, Ajit Anjum mentioned that he used to get Rs 50 per article published in the newspaper Janshakti.
In 1988, he joined a new newspaper publication, Uttarkaal, from Guwahati for a salary of Rs 800 but resigned after two months due to differences with the owner.
At the same time, he rejected another offer from a newspaper in Guwahati, Purvanchal Prahari, and returned to Patna.
He started writing articles on a freelance basis for Jansatta and Amar Ujala until he got a job in Chauthi Duniya in 1989.
In 1990, when senior journalist Prabal Maitra joined Amar Ujala as the bureau chief, he offered Ajit Anjum a job as a reporter, which he continued for four years.
In September 1994, he joined the media company B.A.G. Films and Media Ltd and was the director of the popular talk show Rubaru hosted by Rajeev Shukla .

In 2002, he joined Aaj Tak as a senior producer for a year, and later, rejoined B.A.G. Films.
Ajit Anjum played a big role in the success of the popular shows, Pol Khol (2004), Red Alert, and Sansani (2004), in Star News (now ABP News).
He was instrumental in the launch of the television channel News 24 in 2007. There, he was the managing editor till 2014.
In 2010, he led the ‘Rahat Lekar Bihar Chalo’ campaign, which provided a considerable amount of relief materials to the Bihar flood victims.
From 2014 to 2017, he worked in India TV as a managing editor under Editor-in-chief, Rajat Sharma .
In 2016, he was featured on the list of the 50 most powerful people of Bihar in a survey conducted by Fem magazine.
In 2019, he joined TV9 Bharatvarsh as the consulting editor for five months.
In 2020, he gave a TEDx speech on the topic ‘Stop Trying’ at Vidyapati Bhavan in Lodipur, Patna.
Since 2020, he has been doing journalism work through his YouTube channel, which has 60.9 subscribers, as of July 2024.
