Aditya Srivastava is an Indian actor, who mainly works in the Hindi television and film industries. He is popular for playing the role of Senior Inspector Abhijeet in the police procedural TV show ‘C.I.D’ (1998-2018), which aired on Sony Entertainment Television.
He had a deep passion for acting since he was a child. He started performing in theatre plays with Sangeet Samiti, Civil lines, Allahabad, during his college days.
In 1989, he relocated to Delhi and got associated with a theatre group named Shri Ram Centre for Performing Arts.
After making his television debut with the television series ‘Dera’ (1992), he appeared in the television series ‘Shesh Prashna’ in 1993.
In 1994, he played the role of Madhumoy Sur in the episode ‘Kahen Kavi Kalidas’ of the TV show ‘Byomkesh Bakshi’ (1994), which was aired on DD National.

He shifted to Mumbai from Delhi in 1995 and stated working as a voice over artist for advertisements and promos.
After making his Bollywood debut with the film ‘Bandit Queen’ (1994), he appeared in the film ‘Sanshodhan’ (1996).
He essayed the role of Majib in the TV series ‘9 Malabar Hill’ (1997), which was broadcasted on Zee TV.
The actor made a few episodic appearances in the thriller horror television anthology series ‘Aahat’ (1998). The TV series was aired on the channel Sony Entertainment Television.
He received huge praise for his performance in the 1998 film ‘Satya’ in which he played the role of Inspector Khandilkar.

He rose to fame with his role as Senior Inspector Abhijeet in the TV series ‘C.I.D,’ which was broadcast on Sony Entertainment Television from 1998 to 2018. His performance in the 1998 film ‘Satya’ caught the attention of B. P. Singh, who later cast him as Abhijeet.
Prior to his role as Abhijeet, he played the role of a villain named Paresh in the “The Case of the Stolen Gun” episode in the TV series ‘C.I.D.’
At first, he signed a contract to act in only 26 episodes of the TV series ‘C.I.D,’ but later his role was expanded, making him a vital part of the series.

He appeared in a supporting role of Tito in the film ‘Dil Pe Mat Le Yaar’ (2000). Initially, he was selected for the main role, but later it was given to Manoj Bajpayee .
He played the role of a guitarist named Murgi in the film ‘Paanch’ (2003), directed by Anurag Kashyap . The film did not make its theatrical release. However, the film gained recognition when presented as the closing film in Osian’s Cinefan Festival of Asian and Arab Cinema in 2005.

In 2004, he essayed the role of Lt. Col. Pradeep in the film ‘Lakshya,’ starring Hrithik Roshan .
In the same year, he appeared as Pramod in the horror television series ‘Raat Hone Ko Hai.’ The television series was broadcast on Sahara Manoranjan.
In 2006, the actor landed his first lead role in the film ‘Dil Se Pooch… Kidhar Jaana Hai.’ He appeared as a police officer named Avinash in the film.

In 2004, he earned a spot in the Guinness Book of World Records for shooting the longest single shot for 111 minutes without a cut in the “The Inheritance” episode of C.I.D.
He revealed in an interview that sometimes people mistakenly believed he was a real police officer. He shared an incident when a lady at Delhi Airport asked him to help find her stolen purse.
In real life also he and Dayanand Shetty (Daya) are best friends.
