Some Lesser Known Facts About Abhishek Thakur
Abhishek Singh Thakur is an Indian kabaddi player. He came into the limelight when he participated as a raider in the 6th season of the Pro Kabaddi League (PKL) in 2018.
He began playing kabaddi at the age of 14 when his school sports coach suggested him to join the kabaddi team for district tournaments. Later, he joined GS Kabaddi Academy in Khurja to get professional training and started representing his school in inter-school competitions.

According to him, he liked playing handball during his school days.
Thereafter, he was selected for the kabaddi team to represent Uttar Pradesh state after his good performance at the domestic level kabaddi championships. Abhishek’s performance in the nationals opened doors for him in the VIVO Pro Kabaddi League.
U Mumba bought Abhishek Singh for Rs. 42.80 Lakh in the 6th season and kept him on the team for the next PKL season. In his first season, he earned a total of 53 tackle points in 5 matches, including 2 Super 10s.
Reportedly, his performance throughout the 7th season of PKL brought him into national discussions. In that season, he scored 162 raid points in 21 matches, achieving 10 Super 10s. Abhishek continued with the team for the 8th season of the Pro Kabaddi League in 2021. In 2022, he played for the Telugu Titans in the 9th season of the Pro Kabaddi League.

In the same year, Abhishek Singh Thakur represented the Uttar Pradesh team in the men’s kabaddi competition at the ’36th National Games Gujarat 2022′ organised in Ahmedabad. After this match, he shared in a media conversation that his kabaddi practice sessions in the VIVO Pro Kabaddi League with Telugu Titans helped him during the national games, and it also helped him to change his lifestyle. He said,
My practice sessions with Telugu Titans certainly helped me during the National Games. My lifestyle has changed after I started playing in the vivo Pro Kabaddi League. From living to eating to meeting people, everything has changed. We feel like celebrities and we get respect from everyone wherever we go.

In 2023, Abhishek Thakur was bought by Bengaluru Bulls in the tenth season of PKL.
