On 8 February 2024, Mauris Noronha , a local activist and businessman, reportedly tricked Abhishek into coming to his office in Borivali (West) under the pretence of being friendly and doing charity work together on Facebook Live.
Thereafter, during the Facebook Live video, Abhishek was shot by Mauris five times. During the live session, Abhishek tried to run but was shot again. Mauris Noronha then shot himself. Some people who were outside the office heard the gunshots and took Abhishek to the hospital but could not be saved.
