On 22 August 2018, he committed suicide by hanging from the ceiling fan of his room.
Before committing suicide, Shinde’s wife had not been living with him for 3 months and also she did not allow Abhijeet to meet their 3-year-old daughter. Abhijeet was quite upset with all these happenings in his life and was suffering from depression.

A suicide note was found near his body in which he had requested to transfer his bank account on his daughter’s name.
The police were informed by his neighbours, but by the time he was taken to the nearest hospital from his place, he was declared brought dead.
