In 2013, Abhay Bethiganti joined the Nishumbita School of Drama in Hyderabad, Telangana, where he trained under gold medalist Dr. Ram Mohan Holagundi and specialized as a mime artist. This training led him to perform on stages like Ravindra Bharathi and Lamakaan in Hyderabad.
In 2016, he came into the limelight after playing the role of Vishnu in the Telugu film Pelli Choopulu. In the same year, he appeared as Nishanth Pudhari in the film Bommala Ramaram.

Abhay Bethiganti then went on to appear in many Telugu films such as Mister (2017), Geetha Govindam (2018), Saaho (2019), Eureka (2020), and Ee Kathalo Patralu Kalpitham (2021).
In 2018, he played the lead role in Tharun Bhascker’s web series B.Tech., which aired on ZEE5.
