She belongs to Mexican American heritage.
After she informed her parents about her desire to join the basketball camp when she was 8 years old, her father, Sonny Chavez, who was a football player in high school, started training her personally.
In 2021, she was voted the ‘Most Athletic’ by the 8th grade class of Evans Middle School, Georgia.
After training for a month, she played in the Frenship Youth Basketball League and scored 26 points in her first game.
She was ranked as the No. 1 recruit in America for the Class of 2025 by the ESPN HoopGurlz.
As a senior in high school, she had averaged 34.9 points, 9.1 rebounds, 4.3 assists and 3.7 steals. By the end of her high school career in 2025, she had scored 4,796 points,1,279 rebounds and 771 assists.
She was selected for the Texas Association of Basketball Coaches all-state team for Class 5A in 2025 for the fourth time.
In 2025, she led her team, the Monterey Lady Plainsmen, to their first University Interscholastic League Class 5A Division 2 state championship victory since 1981.

She has volunteered with the ‘Christmas Angel’ program of Monterey High School, providing holiday
gifts to less fortunate families.As a member of the Plainsmen Pal Program, she mentors young basketball players and spends time with them during the season.
She serves as a basketball trainer at The Lab Certified LLC, Texas.
