| Controversies | Faced Backlash in Mannara Chopra kiss incident In August 2023, A. S Ravi Kumar Chowdary was promoting his film Thiragabadara Saami (2023), during a promotional event, he pulled Mannara Chopra closer and kissed her on the cheek in front of the media which totally left the actress uncomfortable. Mannara tried to manage the situation by giving a nervous laughter but the incident was caught by paparazzi and the video of the incident went viral on social media leading the netzines lashing at the director for his behavior. Mannara Chopra did not give any clarification on the issue. Meanwhile, social media users slammed Ravi Kumar for his action and compared the whole incident with a similar situation faced by actress Kajal Aggarwal when she was kissed on stage by cinematographer Chota K Naidu without consent. Later, Ravi Kumar tried to manage the situation by claiming that he did not want to make her uncomfortable and that he was only being friendly. Some Lesser Known Facts About A. S. Ravi Kumar Chowdary
After making his debut as an assistant director in 1995 along with Telugu film director Sagar in 1995, A.S Ravi Kumar Chowdary worked with Sagar for more than a decade and later made his directorial debut in 2002.
While pursuing his graduation at Jagarlamudi Kuppuswamy Choudary College Guntur, Ravi Kumar participated in various extracurricular activities and also represented his college at many inter-college and inter-university competitions.
The college supported him financially and encouraged him to sharpen his skills in these activities.
In 1999, he worked as an assistant director for the Telugu film Nee Kosam along with film director Seenu Vytla.
In 2004, he launched the Telugu actor Tottempudi Gopichand with the Telugu film Yagnam, the film became a huge success.
